GLENS FALLS, N.Y. – The Manchester Monarchs suffered their first loss of the 2019 calendar year on Tuesday, falling 3-2 to the Adirondack Thunder.
After a scoreless first period, Manchester struck first with a deflected shot in by Daniil Miromanov 6:40 into the second period. The Thunder responded just under two minutes later with a goal from James Henry.
Manchester took the lead back halfway through the third thanks to a slapshot from the loaned Drake Rymsha, but Adirondack grabbed goals from Kevin Lough and Blake Thompson.
Lough’s game-tying goal, a spinning backhand that nudged between the legs of Monarchs goaltender Charles Williams, was the top play of the day on ESPN’s Sportscenter program.
The Monarchs return to action Friday, Jan. 11 at 7 p.m., when they take on the Reading Royals at SNHU Arena for CHaD Night.
