HENNIKER – To meet a growing national trend, New England College has renewed its “Community College to New England College” (CC2NEC) program for the 2016-17 school year. The program includes deep tuition discounts and financial aid, and a promise to help students achieve a bachelor’s degree in the course program of their choice.
CC2NEC has been expanded to any student who has completed a course at any community college in the United States. The program continues to welcome anyone who has graduated with an Associate degree, but that is not a requirement.
“We welcome those students who choose to transfer to our school, and we are proud of the success these young men and women enjoy as they pursue their academic goals at our school,” says New England College President Michele Perkins.
National data shows students who enroll directly from community college to four-year colleges tend to complete more classes, have higher GPAs upon graduation, and enter the workforce quickly upon receiving their degrees. CC2NEC is available to those wishing to pursue classes in Henniker, or online through the many course offerings and degree programs now available.
“Nearly one half of all college students are now starting their educational pursuits at the community college level, which is often more affordable than traditional four-year colleges and universities,” says Brad Poznanski, VP of Enrollment at New England College.
“Through this program, we want those students to know we are here to help them reach the next rung on their educational ladder through equally affordable courses,” says Poznanski.
The key to CC2NEC is a smooth transition of credits from community college programs and access to aid making NEC an affordable option for students.
Community college graduates with high GPAs can apply to join NEC’s Honors Program, which includes increased grant and financial aid opportunities. In addition, NEC is offering a full scholarship to community college students to attend classes in Henniker, and two more scholarships for those wishing to pursue online courses.
