Alleged cash grab outside convenience store leads to arrest

MANCHESTER, NH – A city resident was apprehended shortly after an alleged unarmed robbery at 5:55 p.m. on November 11, 2017.

Jonathan Petrocelli, 42, of Manchester, allegedly approached the victim, a 22 year-old man, after he exited V & P Convenience, located at 64 Market St. According to reports, Petrocelli approached the victim and forcefully took his cash.

The victim claimed to have cashed a check prior to exiting the store. He told police the robber, who was not known to him, accosted him and took his cash before fleeing the area on foot. Officer Thomas Donavan recognized the suspect as soon as he reviewed video surveillance from the store.

Officer Donavan and Michael DeJoy located and arrested Petrocelli in the area of 199 Manchester St., shortly after the initial report. Petrocelli was taken into custody without incident and transported to police headquarters. Petrocelli, who is on probation/parole, was charged with robbery and placed on a 72-hour hold by his probation/parole officer. He was scheduled to appear in Hillsborough County Superior Court-North on November 13, 2017.
