MANCHESTER, NH — Talk about hometown heroes.
New Hampshire’s own Justin Spencer, and his Recycled Percussion bandmates Ryan Vezina, Todd Griffin, and Jim Magoon, have collected 20,000 toys from generous Granite Staters to make Christmas feel like Christmas for kids who otherwise would not have much to look forward to on Dec. 25.
A small army of volunteers gathered at the Radisson Hotel on Dec. 23 to help sort and organize the toys, which will be distributed on Christmas day.
Thanks to Karen and Bob Rosenthal, who sent in some photos (see below) of the sorting event at the Radisson. They will be among those volunteers on delivery duty Sunday.
Volunteers are still needed to help with distribution on Christmas day. If you’d like to get in on the fun, simply fill out a volunteer form, available here.
And when they’re not collecting toys to make the season brighter for those in need, Recycled Percussion continues to entertain with their “junk rock” percussion in Vegas. A bonus for the hometown crowd: They will be playing eight shows at the Palace Theatre between Dec. 30 and Jan. 2. All seats are $29.50. Click here for ticket information.
