Police Investigate 2 Neighborhood Burglaries

  • Police said a Chestnut Street residence located in the rear of Webster School was burglarized  by someone who gained entry to  the home by cutting a screen on an unsecured window. An assortMPD emblemment of jewelry was stolen. It is believed the burglary happened during the daytime hours of  June 17, after a neighbor reported having seen a suspicious man in the yard. He is described as a white male, approximately 2o, about 5’10 with a medium build carrying a black backpack.
  • Another residential burglary is believed to have occurred during the daytime hours of Wednesday June 18 at a Webster Street address, located near Linden Street, where it appears entry was made by cutting the screen of an open window. A handgun, large tactical knife and some body armor were taken from the home.

In both crimes, there was minimal ransacking noted inside the homes and an assortment of valuable property, including electronic items were not disturbed.
