MANCHESTER, NH – Nick Aguila of Lee is this year’s Manchester City Marathon champion.

Aguila finished with a time of 2:29:07, just over 10 minutes better than second place finisher Matt Garfield of Wells, ME.

An assistant cross-country coach at Southern New Hampshire University, Aguila finished in 55th place in the 2017 Boston Marathon with a time of 2:29:42.

Aguila’s time on Saturday would have placed him in third place last year’s Manchester City Marathon, behind Scott Mindel of Arlington, MA,(2:25:20) and Dan Vassallo of Peabody, MA, (2:23:56).

Neither Mindel or Vassallo participated in Saturday’s race.

Peter Gillis held the best time for a Manchester resident on Saturday, finishing in fifth place with a time of 2:48:36.

Jennifer Zopp of Goldens Bridge, NY, was the top female finisher with a time of 3:10:40.

In the half marathon race, Chris Stadler of Brighton, MA, won with a time of 1:12:06, while Mary Klene of Manchester was the top female finisher with a time of 1:28:11.
