Fatal: Thornton crash claims life of Manchester man

THORNTON, NH — On Nov. 9 at 6:55 a.m. Troop F received a report of a motor vehicle collision on Interstate 93 southbound in the town of Thornton.

Troopers along with fire personnel responded to the scene and found one vehicle, identified as a 2001 Honda CRV, off the east side of the interstate that had struck a small stand of trees. A man was found outside of the vehicle and was determined to be the operator, identified as, Ahmed Al Husseini, 24, of Manchester.

Al Husseini had sustained significant injury in the collision and was transported to Speare Memorial Hospital in Plymouth, New Hampshire where he succumbed to those injuries.

Preliminary on-scene investigation revealed that Al Husseini was traveling alone on Interstate 93 southbound when his vehicle went off the right side of the roadway and then veered off the left side of the roadway, rolled over and came to rest after striking a small stand of trees. Alcohol and speed do not appear to be factors in this collision however the investigation is on-going and all factors are being considered.

Units assisting the State Police at the scene included personnel from the Campton Police Department, Thornton Police Department and Campton/Thornton Fire Department.
