Police use tear gas, arrest 9, in Orange Street drug raid

MANCHESTER, NH — Nine people were arrested in a drug raid on Orange Street Thursday.

Police executed a search warrant Nov. 10 at 135 Orange St. following a three-week investigation centered on the street-level distribution of heroin and crack cocaine. They deployed tear gas after two of the 18 people found inside refused to exit the residence.

Police said information was developed by detectives that various individuals associated with this investigation were also in possession of firearms and that the several individuals were inside the residence, ranging from customers to various alleged drug dealers.

At approximately 1:30 p.m. members of Special Enforcement Division and MPD SWAT executed a search warrant at the Orange Street residence, first and second floors. Police found 18 people inside, along with an 18-month-old child, who was safely removed from the residence.

During the warrant execution phase, two firearms (handguns) were thrown from the residence, and two people attempted to hide in a rear bedroom. After the rest of the people exited the home, police deployed tear gas to flush the two remaining people from the bedroom, and they were taken into custody.

The warrant was granted by Honorable Judge W. Lyons on Nov. 9.

Arrested were:

  • William Pellot Sosa, 28, charged with falsifying physical evidence (firearm); resisting arrest; sale of a controlled drug
  • Juan Cortes Lassalle, 29, charged with falsifying physical evidence (firearm); resisting arrest/arrest warrant sale of a controlled drug
  • Charles Teague, 44, charged with sale of a controlled drug
  • Nicholas Crawford, 22, charged with sale of a controlled drug
  • Scott Richards, 30, charged with sale of a controlled drug/warrant other agency
  • Glenn Woodward, 55, charged with resisting arrest/detention
  • Aaron Perry, 35, charged with warrant other agency
  • Cassandra Asiaf, 26, charged with warrant other agency
  • Charles Ali , 30, charged with warrant – contempt of court/possession controlled drug
