MANCHESTER, NH – A couple awoke Tuesday to find a stranger sleeping in their spare bedroom, and held him there at gunpoint until police arrived and placed him under arrest.
Renaud “Junior” Plaisir, 28, of 495 Wellington Road, was charged with burglary.
Police said it appears Plaisir climbed through a window of the residence on Hubbard Street – about a mile from his own residence – and that he had some cash in his pocket that he allegedly stole from the couple.
At 6:30 a.m. police responded to a call from the homeowners and were told that the wife woke up to find Plaisir, a man she was not acquainted with, sleeping in a spare room. The woman’s husband confronted Plaisir and the two had a brief argument. Police said the husband then held Plaisir at gunpoint until police arrived.
Plaisir was arraigned Tuesday morning in District Court.
Manchester police detectives are currently investigating whether Plaisir may be connected to other nighttime burglaries in the area.
