MANCHESTER, NH – A woman was treated for a gunshot wound to the hand late Monday night after she showed up at a convenience store in need of help.
Police say the 24-year-old woman, whose name was not released, arrived just after 9 p.m. to 7-Eleven at 85 South Main Street. She was taken by ambulance to Catholic Medical Center for the injury, which police said was not life-threatening.
She told police she was injured at 129 Winter St. by a man she described as a black male with dreadlocks wearing black gloves, black boots, black pants and a black shirt.
The Manchester Police SWAT unit responded to the area of Parker and Winter streets and surrounded the residence, however once they entered the residence, they found no one inside.
Detectives continue to investigate the shooting in an effort to identify the suspect and further determine the circumstances that led up to the incident.
