LONDONDERRY, NH – The Aviation Museum of NH has been selected to receive a $10,000 grant from Signature Flight Support via its parent company, BBA Aviation’s Charitable Giving Program in support of expanding the museum’s high school aviation education program. Held at the Museum, the program is offered for-credit to juniors and seniors from Londonderry, Manchester, and Exeter high schools. Expansion of the program will enable the Museum to serve additional students and school districts. Offered at no cost to students and school districts, the course runs twice per week, during the normal school year. The curriculum utilizes an inquiry based educational model to explore the wide range of technologies and careers within the aviation industry.

The Aviation Museum of NH staff and Board of Directors are grateful for support of the museum’s education programs.

“We greatly appreciate Signature’s support, said Aviation Museum of NH’s Executive Director Jessica Pappathan. “This grant will enable us to strengthen and expand our aviation education program.  Aviation is an exciting way to bring STEM into the classroom to inspire students to pursue careers in the aviation industry.”

In 2010, BBA Aviation launched its Parent Company Charitable Giving Program, a Group-wide initiative. The program complements the many existing charitable giving and community involvement programs that are supported throughout BBA Aviation’s operating companies. The aim of the program is to bring its mission and values to life by making a real and sustainable difference to the industries in which they operate and a positive and lasting influence on the communities in which they live and work, a key component of BBA Aviation’s commitment to Corporate Responsibility.

The stated mission of the Aviation Museum of NH is “To preserve New Hampshire aviation history through dynamic and hands-on exhibits and programs. The Museum engages the public through learning opportunities in aviation science and technology and provides a unique cultural experience that inspires aviation in people of all ages.
