MANCHESTER, N.H. – Want high fives, home runs and hijinks in your job description? How about fist bumps and photo bombs?

The New Hampshire Fisher Cats, Double-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays, are hosting open mascot tryouts this Saturday, March 18 at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium. From noon – 2 p.m., applicants are invited to audition for the lead role of Fungo the Fisher Cat.

Beloved by fans across New Hampshire, Fungo is the star of the show, the life of the party, and the face of the franchise all rolled into one furry package. Ideal candidates are energetic, charismatic and fun-loving people with the ability to interact with all types of fans in a family-friendly environment.

In-game responsibilities include hugs, high-fives, fist bumps, selfies, photo bombs, interpretive dance, juvenile hijinks, foot stomping, tail shaking, hand clapping and more – all while upholding Fungo’s lifelong vow of silence.

Candidates must be 18 years or older and have availability to work game dates (mostly evenings) during the 2017 season. To reserve a time slot for the tryout, please email community@nhfishercats.com or send a message to the Fisher Cats Facebook page.

The Fisher Cats open the 2017 season on Thursday, April 6, versus the recently renamed Binghamton Rumble Ponies (AA-New York Mets). Single-game tickets are on sale now at nhfishercats.com or over the phone at (603) 641-2005.

On July 12, the team will host the 2017 Northeast Delta Dental Eastern League All-Star Classic at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium, featuring the top prospects from each of the league’s 12 teams. All-Star tickets are available through the purchase of any Fisher Cats Ticket Plan.
