1 injured in crash on I-293 involving oil delivery truck

MANCHESTER, NH – One person was seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash on I-293 Feb. 17 that backed-up traffic for about five miles.

At approximately 8:30 a.m. a white 2001 Kenworth T-800 Nashua Fuel truck was traveling north on Route 293 south of exit 4 in Bedford.

The operator of the truck, Keith Clegg 40, of  Nashua, had slowed for heavy traffic when he was rear ended by Maxwell Dupont, 19 of Hudson, operating a blue 1988 Honda Civic.

Clegg was not injured in the incident. The fuel truck sustained minor damage and was not hauling fuel at the time of the crash. The Honda suffered heavy front end impact damage leaving Dupont entrapped in the
vehicle with a head injury.

Bedford and Manchester Fire Departments cut Dupont from the wreckage and he was transported to the Elliot Hospital for treatment.

Route 293 was limited to one lane for approximately one hour during the crash investigation. Any information in regards to this incident, contact Trooper First Class Frank Campo at the State Police Barracks Troop B in Bedford at 603-672-3333.
