Victim ID released in Union Street homicide, circumstances remain under investigation

CONCORD, NH — NH Attorney General’s office on Sunday released results of an autopsy conducted on Jason Barry, 42,  of Manchester, who was found deceased following a shooting near Union Street in Manchester on July 19, 2019.

New Hampshire Chief Medical Examiner Jennie V. Duval has determined that the cause of Mr. Barry’s death is a gunshot wound of the head. The manner of his death is homicide.  As used by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, homicide is defined as the killing of one person by another.

The Manchester Police Department has identified all the involved parties in the shooting and is actively investigating the incident, including the potential of a self-defense claim.
