BEDFORD, NH – SpotOn Virtual Smart Fence, created by OnPoint Systems, was selected as the 2019 Product of the Year (POY) at the New Hampshire Tech Alliance’s annual POY competition. Through a combination of audience voting and expert judging, the SpotOn Virtual Smart Fence was the preferred choice among the five finalists that exhibited and pitched their latest innovations in front of over 200 innovators, entrepreneurs, business people and guests that attended this year’s event on October 24.

OnPoint Systems’ SpotOn Virtual Smart Fence is a comprehensive, easy-to-use dog safety system that integrates perimeter containment capabilities and tracking systems without the need for buried wires or base stations and professional installation. To ensure the dog stays safely within the programmed boundaries, the collar provides a series of audio warnings followed by an optional static correction. The system is nationally recognized by trainers and pet experts as effective and humane. Bedford-based OnPoint was founded by serial entrepreneur Ken Solinsky, who won the Alliance’s Entrepreneur of the Year award in 2006.

“Every year since 2006, we’ve been able to showcase new and unique New Hampshire-made innovations at this event and continue to be amazed and impressed at the big ideas that come out of our small state,” said Lisa King, chair of the Product of the Year Committee and member of the Alliance’s Board of Directors. “A huge congratulations to the whole team at OnPoint Systems for creating such a robust and versatile system that leverages technology to keep pets safe and contained in nearly every environment.”

Each of the finalists were selected by a panel of judges to present at POY. The winner was selected based on the judges’ input and a real time vote of the audience at the end of the event. The 2019 Product of the Year finalists included, Enviro-WallCover® from LDI Solutions, SitePortal Remote Monitoring from C Squared Systems, the MAV3K from Waypoint Robotics, and the Radiance Awareness Suite from Radianse.

“There is a tremendous workforce in this state, ranging from high tech PhD candidates to the workers on the production floor that put products together day in and day out. This is a tremendous state to do business in and we’re just proud to be here in New Hampshire and contributing to the economy,” Solinsky said.

As the winner of this year’s competition, OnPoint Systems will have their company name engraved on the prestigious New Hampshire Tech Alliance hand-cut crystal trophy, designed by world-renowned Pepi Herrmann Crystal of Gilford, NH. The trophy, which is engraved with all names of winners since the inception of POY in 2006, is prominently displayed at the Manchester-Boston Regional Airport.
