MANCHESTER, NH – New Hampshire’s Child Advocacy Centers (CACs) support child victims of physical and sexual abuse, as well as children who witness violent crimes. The centers support these children in the early stages of criminal investigations by offering forensic interview services and by helping connect them to the important community resources.
To bring awareness to the cause and help increase community support of CACs, Manchester Police Chief Nick Willard and Wilton Police Chief Brent Hautanen have authorized their Department members who have pledged to support the Child Advocacy Center of Hillsborough County to grow beards, mustaches or goatees during the month of October. The initiative by Manchester Police Department last year was such a success, that other police departments are following suit (see below).
