Police are looking for a man who threatened a Wal-Mart security guard with a knife as he left the store with unpaid for merchandise.
At about 6:45 p.m. on Sept. 22 police were called to Wal-Mart, 300 Keller St., to investigate an armed robbery. The store security guard told police he had observed a man conceal several over-the-counter medicines on his person prior to leaving the store. The guard followed the man, who allegedly brandished a six-to eight-inch hunting knife as the guard attempted to stop him.
Once the knife was shown, the guard backed away and the suspect fled through the parking lot toward Auto Fair Honda. Police searched the wood with tracking dogs, but the suspect was not found.
The suspect is described as a light- or olive-skinned male, mid-to late-20s, approximately 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-8 inches tall with a thin build. He was wearing a dark-colored coat with a felt-like material, dark jeans and dark shoes.
