MANCHESTER, NH – Five new police officers were sworn in during a day of celebration on June 29 for the Manchester Police Department at the Radisson Hotel.

Officer Matthew T. Comeau

Officer Comeau, 31, was raised in Hampton, N.H., and is a graduate of Berwick Academy in South Berwick, Maine – class of 2002. He is studying toward a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice at Southern New Hampshire University. He most recently has been self-employed as a contractor specializing in finish carpentry.

Officer Adam Cortese

Officer Cortese, 24, was raised in Beverly, Mass., and is a graduate of Beverly High School – class of 2009. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in criminal justice from Salem State University in Salem, Mass., in 2015. Adam has served with the Mass. Army National Guard since 2011 and has also been employed as a customer service representative and closing manager for the Shaw’s supermarket in Beverly, Mass.

Officer Nocella, 23, was raised in Merrimack, and is a graduate of Merrimack High School – class of 2010. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in justice studies with a minor in forensic science from the University of New Hampshire in Durham, in 2014. Matthew has most recently been employed as a loss prevention specialist at the Star Market in Brighton, Mass.

Officer William J. Regan Jr.

Officer Regan, 24, was raised in Amesbury, Mass. He is a graduate of Thomas Aquinas High School, in Dover – class of 2009. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in justice administration from Salve Regina University in Newport, R.I., in 2013. He most recently has been employed as a part-time dispatcher and reserve officer with the Groveland, Mass., Police Department.

Officer Erik K. Slocum

Officer Slocum, 22, was raised in Boxford, Mass. and is a graduate of Masconomet Regional High School in Boxford – class of 2010. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice, with a minor in Arabic Studies, from the University of Massachusetts – Lowell, in 2014. He is a 2013 graduate of the 264th session of the New Hampshire Part-Time Police Academy and has been employed as a part-time officer with the Mason, N.H. and Hampton, N.H. police departments. Since 2010, Erik has also worked as a part-time firefighter / EMT for his hometown of Boxford, Mass.
