MANCHESTER, NH — Manchester Patrol officers responded to 276 Notre Dame Avenue for a domestic situation involving a firearm, after a young girl walked to Catholic Medical Center to get help for her mom.

Police said the girl, identified only as a juvenile, contacted 911 to report an ongoing dispute between her mother and her mother’s boyfriend, identified as Zachary Frankenberger, 23.

The officers spoke with Frankenberger and the victim inside of the apartment. The victim stated Frankenberger began arguing with her and slammed a fan on to the ground while arguing with her. He removed a .380 caliber handgun from his drawer and waived it at the victim before placing the handgun on the bed. The victim was able to remove the gun from the bedroom when he exited the room. She hid the handgun on the porch prior to police arrival. The victim walked into the kitchen and asked Frankenberger to vacate the apartment they shared.

She allegedly attempted to give him his rent money back, but he refused and slapped her hand while she was holding the rent money. The officers located the handgun on the porch and placed it into evidence. They placed Frankenberger into custody and called for the transport wagon. Frankenberger acted disorderly, yelling and swearing at the officers on scene. He kicked Officer William Regan in the leg as he was placed into the transport wagon.

Frankenberger was charged with criminal threatening (felony); simple assault (domestic); criminal mischief; simple assault on a police officer and disorderly conduct. He was scheduled to appear in the 9th Circuit Court-Manchester on November 21, 2016.
