The Hippo has created something that puts Manchester on the Worldwide Taco Map!

MANCHESTER, NH – Only in Manchester, city where Cinco de Mayo lingers days later, with the beloved Hippo de Mayo Challenge, a uniquely Manchester event invented by our friends at The Hippo five taco-eating seasons ago, and perpetuated by the city’s love for exciting and delicious variations on the traditional taco.

It’s happening again this year on May 7 from 4 to 9 p.m. at participating eateries in downtown Manchester and the Millyard.

Last year Hippo de Mayo attracted 15,000-17,000 participants.

What makes it special is that participating restaurants go above and beyond to create a specialty taco which they sell to the taco-hungry public for $2 each. The tour part comes in as participants go door-to-door sampling the tacos and then voting online for their favorites, by following the Taco Tour map (we’ve uploaded the map here for you if you want to study it in advance or print it out.)
