Manchester PD LogoPolice are looking for a shoplifter who fled Bedford and drove into Manchester, where he abandoned his vehicle and fled on foot.

At about 3:30 p.m. July 2 Bedford Police alerted Manchester Police that their officers were pursuing a vehicle into the city, and that the driver of the vehicle was a suspect in a shoplifting incident that had just happened in Bedford.

Bedford officers pursued the vehicle on Boynton Street into Manchester and continued to head north on the city’s West Side.

Although no Manchester officers were involved in the pursuit, one officer was able to observe it and provide a direction of travel of the fleeing suspect.

The pursuit ended near 282 Dubuque St. when the driver stopped near a fence and fled on foot. Manchester officers along with a police dog team assisted Bedford officers with tracking the shoplifter, to no avail.

The abandoned vehicle was towed to Bedford Police Department where the investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information about this crime is urged to contact the Bedford Police Department at 472-5113.
