MANCHESTER, NH – The annual We Are One (WAO) Festival will be held on Saturday, August 13 in Veterans Memorial Park from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Screen Shot 2016-08-09 at 8.51.53 AMWe Are One (WAO) Music/Culture Festival brings together the oldest Latino and African-centered cultural festivals in New Hampshire. Latinos Unidos established the Latino Festival in 2000 and Ujima Collective founded the African/Caribbean Celebration in 2001, and now they combine their efforts to celebrate the unique ancestry, common cultural heritage and shared interests because we are “better together.”

This is the largest ethnic cultural festival in New Hampshire, connecting neighbors through food, music, dance and culture.

Africans and Latinos have many cultural connections. Many African victims of enslavement speak Spanish due to their colonial inheritance and many Spanish speakers are of African descent. Afro, Latino, we all know that we are “Better Together.”

Veterans Park is located on Elm Street between Merrimack and Central streets.
