BREAKING: Report of gunfire on Manchester Street, schools sheltering in place

UPDATE: 12:15 p.m. Secure campus status has been lifted by Manchester Police.


MANCHESTER, NH – Police are actively investigating multiple reports of a gunshot fired in the area of 263 Manchester St. It is an active and ongoing investigation. A perimeter was established on Manchester Street between Beech and Union streets.

Both Central High School and the Adult & Community Learning Center at 521 Maple Street are on secure campus status*, according to Manchester Police Lt. Brian O’Keefe.

Police are looking for two suspects: One wearing possibly loose tan/khaki shorts with blue boxers, a white tank top or T-shirt. Light-skinned African-American male with possible curly hair, late 20s, approximately 5-foot-8, slim build; the second dressed in all black, larger build, unknown weight/height/age.

*Secure Campus is activated when it is necessary to protect staff and students from a threat from outside the school building.
