Road closure timeline for Aug. 13 Cigna 5K

Screen Shot 2015-08-13 at 9.22.54 AMMANCHESTER, NH – The 23rd Annual Cigna/Elliot 5K Corporate Road Race is set for Aug. 13. Veterans Park is race HQ. Start time is precisely 6:24 p.m. according to MPD,  at Amherst and Elm Streets, heading north on Elm, west on Thayer, south on River Road and Canal Street and finishing on Merrimack Street, next to Veterans Park.

For those running, good luck and have for.

For the rest of us, this means annoying traffic patterns and road closures. Below is a timeline of closures issued by MPD, beginning at noon today:

5K Time Line

Noon Hrs – Merrimack Street from Elm to Chestnut streets CLOSED

2 p.m. – Detail Officers report to Veterans Park

3 p.m. – Elm Street from Stark Street to Merrimack Street CLOSED

Amherst Street from Elm Street to Vine Street CLOSED

Concord Street @ Nutfield Lane No Southbound traffic (alley)

4:30 p.m. Merrimack Street from Franklin to Elm streets CLOSED

Elm Street @ Manchester Street No northbound traffic

Elm Street @ Pleasant Street No northbound traffic

Elm Street @ Central Street No northbound traffic

Elm Street @ Hanover Street No northbound traffic

Hanover Street No westbound traffic from Citizen’s Bank

5:15 p.m. Elm Street @ Granite Street No northbound traffic

Elm Street @ Bridge Street No southbound traffic

Concord Street @ Vine Street No westbound traffic

Nutfield Lane @ Seneca Lane No southbound traffic (alley)

5:50 p.m. Pleasant Street @ Franklin Street No northbound or westbound traffic

W. Merrimack @ Canal Street No eastbound traffic

W. Merrimack Street No northbound or southbound traffic @ Franklin Street

No access to W. Merrimack Street from TD Bank

Canal Street @ Granite Street No northbound traffic

6:15 p.m. Complete shut down of race course.

Bleed cars off at nearest intersection.
