MANCHESTER, NH – A former employee of Alpha Bits Learning Center was charged Tuesday with four counts of simple assault against three different victims, all under the age of 1, following an investigation by the Manchester Police Department’s Child Abuse and Sexual Exploitation Unit (C.H.A.S.E.).

On March 7, 2017,  Det. Nick Georgoulis of the Manchester Police Department C.H.A.S.E. unit began an investigation in conjunction with the NH Department of Health and Human Services Child Care Licensing Unit. The investigation was prompted by allegations that a child care worker at Alpha Bits Learning Center in Manchester was inappropriately caring for and possibly abusing infants at the daycare.

During the course of the investigation the daycare worker was identified as former employee Chelsea Blais, 32, of Manchester. Information gathered during this joint investigation led to arrest warrants for Blais.

She was arrested March 21 and held on $5,000 personal recognizance bail. An arraignment is set for March 22.

Alpha Bits Learning Center has been cooperative with the investigation and has worked with involved families, along with investigators, putting the wellbeing of the children in Blais’ care first and foremost. This case remains under investigation and no further information is being released at this time.
