MANCHESTER, NH – Manchester fire officials are investigating two unrelated fires that kept crews busy in the early hours Monday.
The first fire was reported at 1:21 a.m. at Rodriguez Market, 519 Amory St. Six engines, three trucks responded to the two-alarm convenience store blaze, which was unoccupied at the time. Firefighters brought the blaze, on the right side of the building, under control by 4:19 a.m. One firefighter suffered a minor hand injury fighting the blaze.

A second fire was reported at 3:36 a.m. at a single-family residence at 161 Maynard Ave. District Chief Michael Gamache reports the fire originated in a finished basement and caused extensive fire and smoke damage throughout the home. He estimated the damage at about $40,000. No injuries were reported in that fire.
