Man scrounging for copper charged with possession of drugs, crack pipe, testosterone pills

MANCHESTER, NH — A city man is charged with possession of drugs and burglary after he attempted to pry open a door on an abandoned building on S. Lincoln Street, allegedly to take copper pipes.

On June 11, 2015 at approximately 1:25 p.m. Manchester Police were dispatched to 118 S. Lincoln St. for a report of a man attempting to gain access into an abandoned property by prying open a door. Upon arrival to the address, officers located a man, identified as Wayne Bridges, 45, of 29 Bremer St., Manchester, sitting inside of an abandoned vehicle on the property.

During the investigation, Bridges made a statement that he was at the property to search for copper pipe and metal. Bridges was found to be in possession of numerous tools and clothing with tags still attached to them, a crack pipe and testosterone pills.

Bridges was placed in custody and charged with burglary and acts prohibited (possession of drugs). Bridges was also placed on a 72-hour hold by probation/parole.
