MANCHESTER, NH – Jerry Gappens, Executive Vice President and General Manager of New Hampshire Motor Speedway, appeared in court Thursday where he pleaded guilty to lewdness, a class B misdemeanor charge.

The court imposed a $1,200 fine with $700 of the fine suspended for a period of one year.

Gappens, 53, and Kendra Johnson, 19, who was also charged with lewdness, were arrested Jan. 21 in Manchester. Detectives from the Manchester Police Street Crime Unit were monitoring illicit activities at 5:45 p.m. around Lincoln and Manchester streets when they arrested Gappens and Johnson, for an alleged lewd act inside a car.

Gappens was in court with his lawyer and read a prepared statement, including an apology to his wife and family, NHMS, Motorsports family, friends and colleagues.
