NASHUA, NH – During National Service Recognition Week, the National Commission on Military, National, and Public Service is taking a day from their three-day visit to Boston to visit Nashua on May 10 to host its third public meeting. The New England region is the third stop in a two-year effort to find ways to increase participation in national, public, and military service by all Americans and review the military selective service process.
The Commission invites members of the public to share their thoughts and ideas on encouraging and inspiring more Americans to serve at the Commission’s public meeting taking place from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 10, 2018 at the Nashua City Hall.

The bipartisan, 11-member Commission was created by Congress to develop recommendations on ways to increase participation in military, national, and public service by all Americans and on the military selective service process. Over the course of the next two years, the Commission will be reaching out and listening to the American public. The Commission hopes to ignite a national conversation about the importance of service as it develops recommendations for Congress, the President, and the American people by March 2020.
During its visit to Nashua, the Commission will hear from government, nonprofit, and civic leaders. The visit will highlight Nashua’s initiatives and programs that engage citizens in serving and meeting the needs of their communities.
