The views are inviting along the Merrimack River.

A small group of community-minded residents are working to make Hooksett’s recreational facilities known, used, and potentially improved. This is the first step in the effort to make better use of Hooksett’s many assets.

The entry to Riverwalk Trail is found behind the Hooksett District Court and dog park at 101 Merrimack St. There is plenty of free parking. It takes only about 15 minutes to walk the length of the trail, which has been marked with QR codes to help inform the curious visitor to special points of interest.

Hooksett Memorial School fifth-graders installed the QR code signs to pique the interest of curious visitors to the Riverwalk Trail.

The trail is family- and pet-friendly, and open to all ages. While the use of strollers and wheelchairs is possible, the trail is not paved. Riverwalk is a carry-in, carry-out trail, so be prepared to take home any used bottles or other trash.

benches Edited
Take a little break along Hooksett’s Riverwalk Trail on one of the benches.

This is the first in a series of “Meet Your” Hooksett parks, trails and other recreational facilities. Celebrate National Family Fun Month and meet your Riverwalk Trail!
