The New Hampshire Fisher Cats returned to Manchester on Tuesday and broke a two-game losing streak, defeating the Harrisburg Senators, 6-3.
Harold Ramirez got New Hampshire on the board in the first, bringing home Richard Urena, adding a two-run homer in the third for his third RBI.
Jonathan Davis added a three-run homer in the second to give the Fisher Cats enough runs for the win.
Harrisburg brought their three consolation runs across the plate in the fifth with a two-run RBI from Raudy Read and an RBI single from Alec Keller.
Connor Greene threw 97 pitches, but was just one out short of being eligible for the win, leaving after Harrisburg’s rally in the fifth. Instead, the win went to reliever Justin Shafer (2-1). Shafer retired seven straight Senators in the fourth, fifth and sixth, including two strikeouts.
Tim Mayza retired the side in the ninth for his fourth save of the year.
Matthew Crownover (0-2) got the loss. He allowed seven of New Hampshire’s eight hits on the day, striking out one and walking two New Hampshire batters.
Ramirez had two of those hits and Andrew Guillotte also had two along with a walk.
Harrisburg had nine hits during the game, with multi-hit days from Keller (3-for-4), Neftali Soto (2-for-5) and Yadiel Hernandez (2-for-5).
Francisco Rios (3-4, 3.80 ERA) takes the hill for New Hampshire on Wednesday’s 7:05 p.m. contest against Harrisburg. He’ll face righty Wirkin Estevez (1-0, 5.60 ERA).
