Music’s on the Menu Dec. 19: Heat up your lunch hour with ‘Jazz, Modern Funk and Boogaloo”

This concert program will feature jazz works by American pianist and composer Thelonious Monk. Monk is one of the greatest jazz musicians of all time and one of the first modern creators of modern jazz and bebop. The concert will feature MCMS faculty members Jared Steer (drum set), Scott Kiefner (bass) and Tom Robinson (piano).

Jonah swallowed by a whale

From the belly of the fish Jonah began praying to Yahweh. He prayed and prayed, even a prayer of thanksgiving to the God of salvation. He thanked God for saving him from the great depths of the ocean and for His forgiveness. Jonah also thanked God for being in His presence once more after running away. And after 3 days in the belly of the great fish God directed it to vomit out Jonah upon the dry land. READ MORE
