MANCHESTER, NH – A late night fire Wednesday at Wendy’s on Candia Road was quickly contained.
Just before midnight, Manchester Fire crews were dispatched for a report of an explosion with fire in the rear of the restaurant at 860 Candia Road. Fire crews used multiple dry chemical extinguishes to control the fire and check for extension into the vent system. The fire was contained to the Fryolators, which was fueled by natural gas.
No damage to the rest of the restaurant or vent system was reported, according to District Fire Chief Al Poulin, and there were no injuries reported.
Poulin said the restaurant will be closed until it can be inspected by the Manchester Health Department.
