I am tired of hearing certain lawmakers offer nothing but their “thoughts and prayers” after mass shootings. Their cowardice and lack of action sickens me. We need to elect less of these lawmakers in 2020 and more leaders like Congressman Chris Pappas.

While other lawmakers were refusing to take action on the issue of gun violence, Chris co-sponsored legislation to reinstate a ban on the sale of assault weapons. While other lawmakers were letting special interest groups dictate their actions, Chris supported The Bipartisan Background Checks Act of 2019.

18.11 Gun Safety Wins TW Pappas

Gun Safety is not a new priority for Chris Pappas. That’s why organizations such as Giffords: Courage to Fight Gun Violence endorsed him in his run for Congress in 2018, because addressing Gun Violence has always been an important issue for Chris.

In New Hampshire, we’re lucky to have amazing leaders like Chris Pappas and Jeanne Shaheen representing us in Washington, but we cannot take them (or the seats they hold) for granted. We need to work hard to keep them in Washington. We cannot afford to give up either one of their seats to candidates who won’t take the uniquely American tragedy of gun violence seriously.

In order to enact the common-sense gun safety reforms that 90% of Americans support, we need to re-elect Chris Pappas and Jeanne Shaheen in 2020.
