MANCHESTER, NH — Registration is open for fall session of English as a Second Language classes for adults at Holy Cross Family Learning Center, 438 Dubuque Street. Registrations will take place on September 9, 2015 from 9 a.m. to noon; and 1 to 3 p.m. Classes begin September 14, 9:30 a.m. 

Classes will be held four days a week from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., Monday through Thursday; and Monday and Wednesday, from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.

Evening classes are held on Tuesday and Friday from 5 to 7  p.m. beginning in October. If there are enough students, evening classes will be held Tuesday and Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. Citizenship classes will be held on Tuesday evenings from 5 to 7  p.m.

Sewing alterations take place Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.  Donations are accepted for all repairs and alterations. Several times a year, sewing workshops are held to teach our students more advanced skills. Teacher Assistants are paid as well as all students taking part in the sewing program.

All students receive at least one half-hour of computer time based on the curriculum being taught by their teachers.

Tuesday and Thursday afternoons are set aside for workshops of all kinds: NH COSH; Safety on the Job; Banking and Checking Information; Health and Nutrition Needs; Neighbor Works; Landlord and Tenant Rights; or additional computer practice time.
