MANCHESTER, NH – Manchester Police responded to the area of 263 Auburn St. on July 7 at 8 a.m.  and spoke to a man that told police he was threatened by another man, who allegedly used a hypodermic needle to try and coerce him into giving him a ride.

The victim, age 40, told police he encountered a man moments before the report was made. He said he was parked in front of 263 Auburn St. when he observed an unknown man walk slowly past his vehicle. The stranger then entered the  man’s vehicle on the passenger side and demanded a ride.

The victim told the man to get out of his car, but the stranger refused to leave, so the victim left the vehicle.  The stranger allegedly followed him out of the vehicle and displayed a hypodermic needle, which he uncapped as he walked closer to the victim, demanding a ride to an unknown destination. The stranger claimed to have communicable diseases, and threatened to stab the victim if he failed to give him a ride.

The victim walked away from the man and advised him that he was contacting the police department. The man fled on foot before police arrived on scene.

The perpetrator is described as a white male, approximately 6-feet tall, approximately 160 pounds, with short brown hair, unshaven and last seen wearing a dark green or brown long sleeve shirt, dark athletic style shorts and a light brown backpack.
