MANCHESTER, NH – Norman Johonnett, 20, of Manchester, was arrested Dec. 6, charged with conduct after an accident after allegedly fleeing from a three-car crash.

Plain clothes Detectives Matt Jajuga and Cliff Ellston were riding in an unmarked vehicle when they noticed a man, later identified as Johonnett, running away from the scene of a three car crash around 4 p.m. on Tuesday. The crash occurred at the intersection of Orange and Beech streets, but the detectives located Johonnett near Union and Pearl streets shortly after the crash.

The detectives observed him removing various clothing items as he ran from the area of the crash. Patrol Sergeant John Cunningham assisted Detective Jajuga while stopping Johonnett. The officer on scene of the accident relayed the description of the man fleeing the crash and they determined Johonnett was the person responsible and placed him into custody.

Johonnett allegedly failed to stop at the posted stop sign on Orange Street as he approached Beech Street. He allegedly struck a Toyota Minivan, which in turn struck a parked Nissan pickup truck. Two of the four occupants of the minivan were transported to a local hospital and treated for concussion-like symptoms.

Johonnett was charged with falsifying physical evidence and conduct after an accident. He was also issued a motor vehicle summons for operating without a valid license (1st offense) and traffic control devices. He was released on $3000 personal recognizance and is scheduled to appear in the 9th Circuit Court-Manchester on December 30, 2016.
