It’s Nov. 12, 2019. Here’s what’s been going on lately in Saint Anselm College sports.
Football
Saint Anselm could not find a road win against American International on Saturday, falling 39-19.
Senior Malik Allen (West Orange, N.J.) had two touchdowns from senior quarterback Eric Fairweather (Londonderry, N.H.). Freshman Cam Schaefer (Shrewsbury, Mass.) had the Hawks other touchdown, returning a 30-yard punt to the house.
Fairweather finished with 273 passing yards, and four interceptions. The Hawks also forced three fumbles.
The Hawks next face Assumption on Saturday, Nov. 16 (1 p.m.).
Women’s Ice Hockey
The Hawks defeated the professional Connecticut Whale, 4-3, in an exhibition on Saturday at Sullivan Arena.
Although the Whale took a 2-0 lead into the first intermission, sophomore Amanda Nylander (Hanover, Minn.) cut the lead in half by the second intermission and a power play goal from junior Katy Meehan (Quincy, Mass.) evened things up.
Freshman Kenadie Cooper (Gilbert, Ariz.) and senior Haley Marshall (Hull, Mass.) provided Saint Anselm their final two goals in the win.
Saint Anselm (6-3-0, 5-3 New England Women’s Hockey Association) now heads to Saint Michael’s on Friday, Nov. 15 (7 p.m.)
Men’s Ice Hockey
Saint Anselm won in overtime on Saturday, defeating Saint Michael’s at home, 3-2.
The winning goal came from senior Trey Aiello (Williamsburg, Va.), with the other two goals coming from senior Mike Ferraro (Northbridge, Mass.).
Next up is two games for Stonehill on the road on Friday, Nov. 15 and Saturday, Nov. 16.
