Snow means early dismissal for schools

MANCHESTER, NH —The probability of a whopper of a snow storm seems inevitable, with the National Weather Service calling for at least a foot of snow before the anticipated nor’easter ends Thursday.

The current forecast is calling for heavy snow with total accumulations of 12 to 18 inches. Locally higher amounts over 20 inches are possible inland with snowfall along the immediate coast of 6 to 12 inches.

Manchester School District has called for early dismissal Wednesday, with middle schools closing at noon, and elementary and high schools closing at 12:53 p.m. Manchester School of Technology will close at 11:40 a.m. All half day and full day preschool is cancelled and all after school activities, including athletics, are canceled.

Coffee & conversation/redistricting presentation is at Webster Elementary School at 7:30 a.m. is still on, but the scheduled redistricting forum at Northwest Elementary School has been postponed to March 29 at 6 p.m.

Also rescheduled, the 6 p.m. Ward 3 community forum at the Palace Theatre. The 4 p.m. downtown business meeting is still on.
