Rise Up, Manchester!

Manchester Ink Link has for more than seven years helped tell the story of our city in an honest way. We won’t tell you who you should vote for, or which side of issues you should be on because we believe it takes a whole community to figure out how to live together and resolve challenging issues.

Our job is to provide you with stories that engage and enlighten and elevate voices from your friends and neighbors to help you get there.

Our news is never locked behind a paywall. It’s free to all who’d like to be informed.

We are a small operation that relies solely on advertising and reader memberships to keep the local news flowing. But today we have a unique opportunity to turn your tax-deductible contributions into expanded coverage of our city.

Now through Dec. 31 your contributions to Manchester Ink Link’s Manchester Rising reporting fund are tax-deductible and will be used exclusively to report on the people, organizations and entities elevating and engaging our community.

Our goal is lofty – $100,000, the equivalent of two full-time reporters for one year.

Why this? Why now?

Manchester Ink Link was founded in 2014 as a digital news and information hub site “where all things Manchester connect.” It has always been designed as a publication “for the people by the people,” which encourages members of the community to participate in an ongoing conversation around making Manchester a more connected and vibrant community.

After all we have been through in the past two years, we believe it’s time to focus on the people-driven good and positive stuff. Manchester Ink Link was recently recognized by the NH Press Association for excellence in journalism, earning 10 awards. We are proud of that but we want to do more, which means expanding our capacity to pay more reporters in order to bring you more of the content you want.

About Manchester Rising 2022

Manchester Ink Link will produce a story series featuring the people, organizations and entities elevating and engaging our community through the pursuit of social justice. Simply defined, social justice is a condition when human rights are accessible and available in the everyday lives of all people at every level of society – in how we live, how we work, and how we play.

Stories produced by Manchester Ink Link will underscore the importance of liveability and community engagement. As suggested by our readers, the series will keep a focus on the ongoing homelessness crisis and lack of affordable/workforce housing as a persistent social justice issue.
