MANCHESTER, NH –  A police detective on patrol made an arrest in Thursday’s attempted armed robbery, after he recognized a man walking down the street as the suspect, from surveillance photos.

Police are looking for this man in connection with an attempted armed robbery at Dunkin Donuts on Granite Street.

Michael Leroy, 36, was charged with attempted robbery after he was taken into custody July 20 at abot 11 a.m.

Prior to Leroy’s arrest, Capt. James Flanagan of the Manchester Police Detectives Division was in the area of Elm and Manchester streets when he observed a man walking on the sidewalk who appeared to match the description of the perpetrator of a robbery attempt at the Granite Street Dunkin Donuts late Wednesday night.

Flanagan spoke with Leroy and placed him under arrest after he determined that he was the alleged robber.
