LONDONDERRY, NH — Sure, those were giant scissors used Monday morning for the ribbon cutting officially opening Pettengill Road in Londonderry; what else would you use for such great, big project?
A mere 18 months ago when construction began on the road, the site was completely wooded. Since then, some 1,000 acres of industrial land has opened up and the creation of more than 4 million-square-feet of new construction means jobs and more opportunities for businesses looking for a place to grow.
Within sight of the Manchester-Boston Regional Airport, Interstate 93 and the Everett Turnpike, Pettengill Road will attract the businesses similar to those there now – FedEx, the partnership between UPS and Pratt & Whitney, in developing a logistics and distribution center, and Milton CAT, according to Londonderry Town Manager Kevin Smith. And Pettengill Road will be the catalyst for some of the most exciting economic development opportunities in southern New Hampshire, Smith said.
