MANCHESTER, N.H. – The New Hampshire Fisher Cats’ home will host something just a little bit different than baseball come the end of this month.

On Friday, May 31 the Nitro Circus “You Got This Tour” arrives at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium, bringing with it a cavalcade of some the world’s best athletes in BMX, FMX, skateboarding and other action-sport disciplines.

The event is filled with past and present participants from the X-Games, the premiere extreme sports competition. However, with the Nitro Circus, there’s a different focus according to X-Games legend and Nitro Circus participant Mike Mason.

“Here, everything is done for the fans, so the guys can cut loose a little more,” said Mason. “At the X Games, the audience is really just the five judges.”

Mason has retired from participation in the X-Games after taking the gold medal in the X Games Moto X Speed and Style event multiple times over the past decade, but he can still hang with the elite performers in the sport. That requirement becomes a necessity as Nitro Circus participants perform tricks that can go as high as 70 feet in the air, often requiring precise coordination.

This month marks the first time in five years that Nitro Circus has come to the greater Boston area, and the first time ever the show has come to Manchester.

For Mason, performing in front of a crowd new to the experience of the Nitro Circus provides an extra sense of satisfaction for the participants.

“In places like New York or Los Angeles, there are so many entertainment options, and we might be in front of fans who’ve seen us before,” said Mason. “But going to smaller markets like this is special, you get a lot of folks who may have never seen anything like this before, so we want to make sure we put on a good show.”

Tickets for the event range from $29-$79 and are available online here. More information on the Nitro Circus is available on the tour’s website, nitrocircus.com
