A city woman is facing felony assault charges after breaking a glass beer mug on a man’s head during an altercation at the Shaskeen.

On September 19 at approximately 12:26 a.m., Officer Miano’s attention was drawn to a large crowd shouting in front of the Shaskeen bar. Officer Miano noticed a male subject covered in blood on his face and shirt and several people in the crowd shouting that the female responsible was running away.

Michael Ware, 38, from Manchester, reported that he was having a disagreement with a female, and the female’s roommate, unprovoked, struck him in the side of the head with a beer glass. Ware had several facial lacerations and was transported to the hospital by ambulance. A short distance from the bar officers located Melissa Thompson, 26, of 328 Merrimack St., Manchester. Thompson admitted to the assault and she was arrested and charged with second-degree assault.
