CONCORD, NH – The McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center will be open every day from December 26 – 31 from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. for Christmas week. The Discovery Center will offer special science workshops for kids ages 8 – 12 during the holiday break, from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Monday, December 28: It’s a Nano-World  A full day of hands-on activities and experiments to explore the science of the very small and learn how nanotechnology is shaping our lives today.

Tuesday, December 29: Mindstorms Challenge Participants in this one-day workshop dive into the basics of coding and robotics, building a roving robot using LEGO Mindstorms.

Wednesday, December 30: Winter Blast-Off  Kids test a variety of rockets, seeing which modifications make rockets go the farthest. Weather permitting, there will be an outdoor rocket launch at the end of the day.

General admission is $10 for adults, $9 for students and seniors, $7 for kids 12 and under, and FREE for members and kids under 3. Workshops are $60 each.

The McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center features 21st-century interactive exhibits on aviation, astronomy, Earth and space sciences, a state-of-the-art planetarium and a variety of science, technology, and engineering and mathematics programs.
