MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Manchester Monarchs are now 3-1 in the 2019 calendar year following their 3-1 victory over Reading on Friday night.

Manchester goaltender Charles Williams shutout the Royals for just under 53 minutes of ice time before Frank DiChiara scored a power play goal, his tenth overall goal of the season.

Williams ended the night with 39 saves.

That would be the final goal of the night, and not enough to overcome Manchester’s early start.

Travis Walsh matched DiChiara’s power play goal with an earlier one for Manchester, following first period scores from Tony Cameranesi and Joe Sullivan.

Craig Wysomirski also added two assists in his return from the AHL.

The Monarchs return to action Sunday, Jan. 13 at 3 p.m., when they take on the Worcester Railers at the DCU Center.
