Democrats Garth Corriveau, left, and Gray Chynoweth will meet for a candidate forum on Aug. 9 at the City Library. They are vying for the Democratic nomination for District 4 Executive Council.

MANCHESTER, NH –  A forum featuring the two Democratic candidates competing for the District 4 Executive Council nomination — Gray Chynoweth and Garth Corriveau – will be held Aug. 9 at Manchester City Library, 405 Pine St., at 6:30 p.m.

Chynoweth, of Manchester, the current CMO of the Advanced Regenerative Manufacturing Institute biotech firm and Corriveau, a Manchester attorney and former city Alderman, are vying for the seat being vacated by Chris Pappas, who is running for Congress.  The winner of the September 11 Democratic Primary will face off against the winner of the Republican primary between former Manchester Mayor Ted Gatsas and Jane Cormier.

District 4 of the Executive Council is comprised of Allenstown, Auburn, Barrington, Bedford, Bow, Candia, Chichester, Deerfield, Epsom, Goffstown, Hooksett, Lee, Londonderry, Loudon, Manchester, Northwood, Nottingham, Pembroke, and Pittsfield.

The forum will be held in the Winchell Room of the Manchester City Library at 405 Pine Street and begins at 6:30 PM. Carol Robidoux, editor and publisher of Manchester Ink Link will serve as moderator.

Everyone is welcome to attend. Can’t make the trip to Manchester? No worries RAD will Livestream the event at Rights & Democracy NH.

“This is an important race that is not getting a lot of attention,” said Kathy Staub, an organizer for Rights & Democracy. “Executive Councilors play an important role in approving the state’s transportation plan, the selection of judges and commissioners, and overseeing state contracts. The Manchester chapter of Rights and Democracy is pleased to be able to offer this opportunity for the public to become more informed about these two candidates and the responsibilities of the New Hampshire Executive Council.”

If you know of a candidate forum or debate that is planned prior to the Sept. 11 primary, or in advance of the November election, please sent it in to robidouxnews@gmail.com so we can get it on our events calendar, and help promote the event.
