MANCHESTER, NH – You’re not dreaming – it’s going to be a white Christmas, with heavy snow in the forecast throughout the day. According to the National Weather Service, the next low pressure system will affect the region until about 3 p.m. on Dec. 25.
There is an overnight parking ban in Manchester, which means no on-street parking between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.
This system will bring heavy snow. The bulk of the snow is expected to fall after midnight through midday Monday with gradual improvement expected during the afternoon hours Monday. Winds will increase by afternoon and become gusty producing significant blowing and drifting snow, especially near and along the coast.
Plan on difficult travel conditions, especially during the morning on Monday. Tree branches could fall as well. Total snow accumulations of 6 to 9 inches, with localized amounts up to 11 inches, are
expected.
The storm warning includes portions of, central, northern and southern New Hampshire and and southwest Maine. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph will cause areas of blowing and drifting snow. Some power outages are possible.
