MANCHESTER, NH – Tickets are now on sale for a unique event that will raise money for worthy cause. On October 12, 2017, the Currier Museum of Art will host, “A Walk Out of the Woods,” a one-of-a-kind fashion event and fundraiser to benefit HOPE for NH Recovery, showcasing an exclusive collection from Sanguine designers Laura Coulter McCarthy and Harry Umen. The inspired collection, “A Walk Out of the Woods,” celebrates the HOPE for NH Recovery’s mission to support all people impacted by addiction and seeking compassionate pathways to recovery. The collection represents the transition and stages of addiction and recovery, reflecting textures, patterns and colors that pivot between darkness and light, cool and warmth, and offer visual contrasts that references the struggles of individuals seeking recovery and hope.

The charity fashion event will begin with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres from Celebrations Catering, and the opportunity to tour the Currier Museum’s current special exhibition, The Paris of Toulouse-Lautrec. Drawn from the collection of the Museum of Modern Art, Lautrec’s bold lithographs highlight Paris and the city’s eccentric inhabitants, whose lives the artist celebrated through his art.

Upon entering the Currier’s Winter Garden, guests will be transported into a New England woodland themed runway, and experience an intimate view of the Sanguine collection.  A live art auction will take place during the fashion show, including pieces from premiere New Hampshire artists.

“HOPE for NH Recovery is honored to be the beneficiary of this unique event! HOPE could not operate without the generosity of our community partners. These fundraising efforts will allow us to continue our important work of helping those impacted by the opioid crisis and get them the help they desperately need,” stated HOPE Board Member, Melissa Crews.

About Sanguine Designs

Laura and Harry have been collaborating since early 2016 when they produced their first collection for a runway in Rio di Janeiro staged during the 2016 Summer Olympics. In the fall of 2016 the skills and artistic vision of these two artist-designers combined to form a fashion brand called ‘Sanguine’ and immediately started showing looks at shows in New York, San Francisco and Boston. The unique vision of Sanguine incorporates the use of carefully selected fabrics and digital textile printing in creating looks which range from the conceptual to the practical and never visually disappoint. Sanguine’s international designs are created locally right here in New Hampshire in the Manchester Mills.
