MANCHESTER, NH — On Nov. 3 Honor Flight New England will be sending its last group of veterans to Washington, D.C., to visit the World Ward II memorial. This is the final voyage for 2019, Honor Flight’s 10th anniversary which has been a dedicated mission to get as many veterans to the nation’s capital and back for a hero’s welcome.
But they need your help.
The flight was originally to leave out of Manchester Airport. Due to unforeseen circumstances with the flight, the flight is now set to leave from Logan Airport and return to Manchester on Sunday.
A convoy will be departing from Manchester heading to Logan Airport, and convoying to Logan Airport at 6 a.m.
What they need is the same enthusiasm and love that supporters have shown over the past 10 years. The only difference is you will need to bundle up a little.
Bring your flags and your signs to line the road from the Manchester Airport Crash/Fire/Rescue station at 402 Kelly Avenue (not street) in Manchester, and stretch up onto the next road on the route, Bouchard Street. The route will continue onto Harvey Road, and OFF TO BOSTON!
Organizers are working with Logan Airport and Mass State Police so that they can accommodate the bus, and the few police cruisers that will be in the convoy. If you would like to take part in the Boston send-off, that would be awesome! But you’d have to drive down independently.
Details: The bus is leaving the fire station at 6 a.m. so anyone interested in being there should plan to arrive and find a spot between 5:15 and 5:30 a.m. Parking at the fire station is reserved for the veterans, so please find alternative parking.
Honor Flight will be landing that night at 11:55 p.m. at Manchester Airport. Please come and welcome home all the Honor Flight heroes.
